BioI have been an RN for over 30 years working in Canada and the U.S.A., in various capacities, in various systems. I started out working on a large ward in the Veterans Hospital in Montreal, then Intensive Care Units in private hospitals in Southern California. My BS is in Health Care Management. I have been the Director of a busy Emergency Department and worked in Administration, before earning a MSN/FNP. I enjoy the variety of patients and problems that I see as a Family Nurse Practitioner. I work as a pool so I can be off the same time as my husband, Steve, who is a family physician in FMS. This means I do not have a regular schedule and patients are not assigned to me. | |

More details about my specialty:I feel privileged to practice at Kaiser Santa Rosa, and believe Kaiser Permanente is the best health care system in the United States. I previously worked in a private practice. It was confusing and dissatisfying. Here, I do not waste time with paperwork and begging insurance companies for the care my patients need. I can easily consult with any specialist, order any appropriate test, and am consistently updated in order to practice evidence-based medicine. |

People in my life:Steve is an experienced family physician. He enjoys teaching and never minds discussing difficult cases with me. We enjoy our life in the country and do almost everything together, but he's in charge of the vegetable garden and his grapes, and I'm in charge of the roses. My children and people I care about:We love our animals and are going to have more. We only have one dog now because after losing his sister, Romeo is not interested in sharing us. In addition to our indoor cats, we have cats that live in our shed and a few we feed that we don't know who they belong to. An interesting story about my family or friends:We enjoy visiting my family in Hamilton, Canada every year. Sometimes we stay at their summer cottage up by Georgian Bay. |

An adventure I've had:We try to take one big trip every couple of years. We have been to the Orient and Bali and many countries in Europe. Traveling in Africa was amazing. Learning about the devastation people have suffered due to the AIDS epidemic was heartbreaking. |
