Andrea Rubinstein, MD

Bio

I am an anesthesiologist with a specialty in chronic pain. I am a 3rd generation native Californian. My grandfather was born in Napa and my family has lived in the Bay Area all of my life. Before going to medical school I worked as a software engineer and have a special love for 'solving problems'. After several years in the high-tech world, I decided it would be more interesting to solve medical problems than software problems and I chose to pursue medicine. I attended Stanford University Medical School and then went on to a residency in Anesthesiology at Duke University. While at Stanford I became fascinated with chronic pain and new and exciting ways to treat pain. I continued my interest in this field while I was at Duke. I really love what I do now and I have a strong interest in clinical research to help doctors and patients better understand chronic pain and find new ways to treat this condition.
