Bio

I am a family physician, board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and went to college at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign (Fighting Illini and the Big Ten conference for any college sports fans).

I decided to put the snow and the wind chill behind me when the opportunity came to attend medical school at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and moved to the Bay Area in the early nineties.

Following medical school, I chose to specialize in Family Medicine, because of its emphasis on caring for the whole person, rather than a single organ or disease entity. I finished my Family Medicine training at the UCSF-affiliated Family Practice Residency Program (Sutter Medical Center). I worked in private practice in Petaluma for several years before joining on staff at Kaiser Permanente.

As a family physician, my goal is to partner with you and work together toward optimizing your health.

Encouraging you in your continued pursuit of health and wellness...

My Medical Specialty

My specialty interests and affiliations within my field:

American Academy of Family Physicians
Sonoma County Medical Association
California Medical Association

An interesting story from my training:

During medical school, I participated as an exchange medical student to the University of Toronto School of Medicine and spent some time in Toronto, Canada. This provided a unique opportunity to learn the Canadian Healthcare system and see how primary care medicine is practiced in Canada. This experience offered a valuable insight into the differences between our U.S. health care system and the socialized medicine in Canada, and the advantages and disadvantages inherent in both systems.

Interests

While I am no "photographer", I have attached a few pictures that I have enjoyed taking over the years. I have chosen these images specifically to transport you to a serene environment, and to remind you that relaxation and stress management is an important part of healthy living.
