Psychiatry (Child/Family)
The child & family psychiatry department consists of board certified and licensed social workers, psychologists and psychiatrists who specialize in the treatment of children, adolescents and families. The department provides comprehensive mental health services to our members. Members may call the department for services and do not require a referral in order to arrange an initial appointment.
What is a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist?
Child Psychiatrists are MDs or DOs with special training in the care of the emotional and behavioral problems of children and teenagers. The Child Psychiatrist works as part of the treatment team, especially when medications may be needed as part of treatment.
Why Would a Child/Adolescent Need to See a Psychiatrist?
Child Psychiatrists provide assessment and treatment for many common problems of childhood, including Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, anxiety disorders, behavior problems, developmental problems, and mood disorders.
