2010 Community Benefit Grant Program
Kaiser Permanente Santa Rosa is pleased to announce its 2010 Community Benefit Grant Program. For over sixty years, Kaiser Permanente's social mission has been the foundation for its community service programs. As a values-driven, not-for-profit integrated health care program, Kaiser Permanente is dedicated to improving the health of its members and the communities it serves.
Through partnerships with community organizations and government agencies, Kaiser Permanente addresses issues and concerns that affect overall community health. These partnerships are built upon the sharing of knowledge and resources between Kaiser Permanente and health-related community service organizations. Kaiser Permanente brings a variety of resources to these partnerships: cash grants to support community activities, volunteers and in-kind donations.
Each year, Kaiser Permanente provides funds to community organizations and government entities to improve the health of the communities we serve. Kaiser Santa Rosa has identified priority health and social needs that impact the lives of vulnerable populations through a community needs assessment that is conducted every three years. These priorities provide the basis for the Kaiser Permanente Marin / Sonoma Community Benefit Program and guide the distribution of Kaiser Permanente Santa Rosa Medical Center contributions to the community.
The priority needs identified for the Kaiser Santa Rosa area through 2010 include:
Letters of Interest are due February 1, 2010
- Promote improvement in children’s health status by addressing obesity through healthy eating and active living; improving oral health; reduction of teen alcohol, drug and tobacco use; and reduction of perinatal substance use.
- Support Community Health Centers and other Safety Net providers of care for under and uninsured.
- Support programs which increase access to care and coverage, as well as supportive services, for vulnerable populations.
- Promote prevention services to improve the health and well being of people living in our community.
For 2010, the Marin Sonoma Community Benefit Program is requesting that Letters of Interest (LOI) be submitted for organizations interested in applying for grant funding. The range of grants this year is $5,000 - $20,000. Letters of interest are accepted through February 1, 2010.
