Bio

After finishing medical school at the UCLA School of Medicine, I completed a residency in Family Practice and was in private practice for four years. I then returned to UCLA and completed a residency specializing in Anesthesiology. I am board certified in Anesthesiology. I joined Kaiser Permanente in 1989 in time for the opening of the new Kaiser Santa Rosa Medical Center Hospital in early 1990.

I live in Santa Rosa with my wife, our two teenage sons, and our golden retriever.

As an Anesthesiologist, I strive to make your surgical experience as safe and pain-free as possible. Anesthesiologists are experts in managing the physiological and psychological stresses associated with surgery. We also act as consultants for the hospital in the areas of acute and chronic pain management, as well as procedural sedation. We have an active obstetrical anesthesia service providing labor epidurals and analgesia on a 24-hour per day basis.

I have found that the specialty of Anesthesiology is very interesting and fulfilling. Patient safety and comfort are always first and foremost in my clinical care.

I also have a special interest in providing anesthesia services for those individuals who have a history of alcoholism or drug addiction, whether or not they are in recovery.
