Bio
I am a Psychiatric Social Worker in the Santa Rosa Department of Child and Family Psychiatry. I have worked with families and children for more than twenty years. Happily, the past ten years of my career has been spent at Kaiser Santa Rosa. Our Child and Family Service provides comprehensive treatment to children ages 2-18 years of age and their families. We have many excellent programs designed to meet the varying needs of families. Our staff is comprised of Psychiatric Social Workers, Psychologists and Psychiatrists.
As a member of this multi- disciplinary treatment team, I provide initial assessments, individual, family and group therapy. All staff members participate in providing emergency services to children in crisis. Crisis services are available 24 hours a day in our clinic or after 5pm and on weekends in the Emergency Department. I also provide psychiatric services in the Department of Pediatrics. Working in a medical setting and closely with medical providers has allowed me to be involved in patient care in a holistic manner in keeping with my treatment philosophy. I am the Coordinator of an Eating Disorder treatment clinic which meets Thursdays in Pediatrics. The clinic is a multidisciplinary program providing comprehensive medical, nutritional and psychiatric services to teens struggling with eating disordered behaviors. Families are able to participate in individual, family and group therapy focused on assisting them with this difficult issue.
I also co-teach a course for parents of difficult to manage children called Parent Project Junior. This is a six week course offered jointly through Psychiatry and Health Education. Parents of children with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder have found this to be particularly useful in learning new behavior management techniques and gaining support.
Please note that Child and Family Psychiatry is located away from the main Kaiser campus at 3558 Round Barn, suite 106. I can be reached by voice mail or e-mail but please do not leave any urgent messages. If you need to speak to someone urgently during the day, please, call the main Kaiser Psychiatry number at (707) 571-3778.
