Bio

I was born in Denver, Colorado and grew up on the Stanford University campus where my father served as Associate Dean of the Medical School. I attended the University of Colorado and subsequently Tufts University Medical School in Boston. Following my post-graduate training in San Francisco, I repaid my medical school financial obligations by living on the beach in Hawaii for three years while serving at a large Army Teaching Hospital in Honolulu, Hawaii. This bliss was interrupted briefly by my assignment to run a Radiology department at an Evacuation Hospital in the Saudi Arabian desert during the first Gulf War.

My Medical Specialty

More details about my specialty:

Medical Imaging includes all forms of diagnostic "pictures" such as MRI, CT, Ultrasounds, and X-rays. I enjoy the inherent problem-solving as well as the wide interaction with physicians from other specialties.

I was exposed to medicine while young through my father. The compassion and the desire to help patients was reinforced while living with a college roommate who was undergoing treatment for Hodgkin's Disease.

I joined Kaiser Santa Rosa in 1992. I feel that the Kaiser Permanente system currently serves as the model for what is "right" about medicine.

Interests

My personal interests include outdoor pursuits such as cycling, skiing, and gardening, as well as enjoying Sonoma County's fine food and wine.

I have personally landscaped much of my property with extensive perennial and organic vegetable gardens.
