BioI was raised in Southern California, but my training in Ob/Gyn brought me to Northern California in 1982. After completing my training at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Oakland, California I joined Kaiser Santa Rosa. One year later I became Chief of Obstetrics and Gynecology and served in that position for five years. | |

More details about my specialty:While in college and medical school, my plan was to specialize in Emergency Medicine. All of this changed during my third year of medical school when I had my first experience in labor and delivery. After all these years, I still consider it an honor and a privilege to be involved with a family at this special time in their lives. My specialty interests and affiliations within my field:Fellow, American College Obstetrics & Gynecology |

| When I'm not in the hospital you will probably find me on the golf course. In addition to golf, my wife and I enjoy traveling and spending time with our three children. | |

People in my life:I have been happily married to my wife for 30 years. The only problem is that she now spends more time on the golf course than I do. |

An adventure I've had:My wife and I enjoy visiting new places and usually try to get away during the winter, typically to someplace warm and sunny. One of the best vacations we've had was a recent trip to Costa Rica. A good part of the trip was spent hiking through the rain forests, river rafting, and learning a lot about the people of Costa Rica. Favorite place in the world:Hawaii has always been my favorite place. I love the water, the weather, the scenery, and most importantly, the golf courses. A typical day for us in Hawaii would be golf in the morning, and relaxing on the beach or visiting new places in the afternoon. One of my recent trips:One of my best trips was actually a working vacation. I spent a week at the maternity hospital in Dublin, Ireland. This is one of the oldest and busiest maternity hospitals in the world. Working with the Doctors and Midwives in Dublin was incredibly interesting, and it was great to see how something as natural as childbirth can be "managed" very differently and still have great results, ie, happy moms and babies. |
