Diabetes: Lo BásicoWhen: Saturday, Sept 6, 2008 9AM - 12:30PM Northern California Center for Well-Being in partnership with Alliance Medical Center and Kaiser Permanente invites you to attend a Spanish diabetes education class. If you have type 2 diabetes, this class will teach you how to manage your diabetes. Also learn how to recognize and treat high and low blood sugar levels and how to properly use your blood glucose monitor. Bring your blood glucose monitor to class. American Heart Association Heart WalkWhen: Saturday, September 20 2008, 8:00AM - 1:00PM The American Heart Association (AHA) is a national voluntary health agency whose mission is to reduce disability and death from cardiovascular diseases and stroke. They have helped, and continue to help people learn and take action to lower their risk of cardiovascular disease. Be a part of this fun-filled event to raise critical dollars for heart disease, stroke research, and public education. Every year, the AHA organizes a non-competitive walk/run event which raises awareness and funds in the fight against the nation's #1 cause of death, cardiovascular disease.
