Why I Chose Nursing

I chose nursing so I could live, work, and play wherever I wanted. I love direct patient care, and nursing is giving back to the world every day.

An Interesting Part of My Job

Meeting so many new people every day in such an intimate way gives me hope for humanity because there are many wonderful people in the world.

Biography

Trained in Oakland, and lived in Lake Tahoe for 10 years. I helped open the first free standing ER in North Lake Tahoe in 1980. I opened a new hospital in Incline Village, Nevada in 1982. I finished a BSN program at 45 years old. The Kaiser system is efficient and serves patients so we can do nursing and leave phones, paperwork, other jobs to dedicated staff.
