Bio

I am a licensed clinical social worker. I work on the Urgent Care / Triage team for the Department of Psychiatry. I've been in the human service field since the early 70's working with a wide range of client populations and clinical issues including, children and teens, homeless, incarcerated, HIV / AIDS, chronic mental illness, developmentally disabled, GLBT sensitive, substance addiction, couples and families, as well as crisis intervention. I love my work and feel honored to be part of helping to make healing differences in people's lives.

I recall a quote from Anne Wilson-Schaef from the book "Women Who Love Too Much." It reflects the courage we need to face our fears and the wounds of our past: "When I am ready, I will have the opportunity to make these journeys to old hurts with the knowledge that I can heal them and move on."

May we all have the courage to search inward, so we may learn to love ourselves. Only then can we reach out to others with genuine love and compassion to help make the world a better place, a place where diversity is cherished and embraced.
