Bio

I am a psychologist in the Santa Rosa Department of Psychiatry. I have been working on staff here for the last 7 or so years. As a member of the Adult Services team, I provide initial assessments, care management, and individual psychotherapy when appropriate to adults.

I co-lead many group programs, including Mindful Mood Management, a 12 session weekly group for depression, and the Accelerated Life Skills Program, a seven session program for motivated patients with a wide variety of problems in living. All the programs I run use mindfulness as a base and integrate the best of traditional Western psychology, including psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral approaches to treatment, with Eastern psychology, including meditation and moment to moment acceptance of what is.

Regarding my background, I was raised in a small town in Indiana. As a young adult, I lived in several major cities, including Washington, D.C., New York City, and San Francisco. I moved to Sonoma, CA in 1998. I have a B.A. from Wabash College in Crawfordsville, In., an M.F.A. from Catholic University in Washington, D.C., and a M.A. and Ph.D. in psychology from the Wright Institute in Berkeley, CA.

If you wish contact me, please leave a message on my voice mail (707) 571-3757. Please leave your Kaiser Medical Record number, as well as your full name, phone number, and some good times to get a hold of you. I will try to return your call within 24 hours of my picking up the message. I check messages daily when I am in the office. Please note that I am not in the office on Fridays.

If you wish to change your appointment time, please call our front desk at (707) 571-3778. They can pull up my schedule in the computer and book a time that works best for you. (This is the most efficient way to change appointments. If you leave a message with me, we will often just end up playing phone tag.)

If you contact me by email, I will try to answer if I can, but I will most likely ask you to give me a call instead. The internet is not a secure environment for confidential information. A phone line is a more secure option.
